  1. I have been successfully pitching my résumé service on Thumbtack (TT) since last year. (See my profile, Your Résumé Ninja.) But I will tell you why I am looking to leave.
It wasn’t hard to get set up, and I have gotten paid through many different applications, most recently, Venmo, using my own invoicing system.
My problem with TT is that it is a lead generator, and you get leads that you pay for, whether they pick you or not, sometimes more than $30 each! But I only charge $100-200 for a job so I find that I pay more for leads then I recoup by the jobs I do get.
Unfortunately, I have found that TT is not really the platform for a newbie freelancer with a service like writing or editing.
It does give you confidence to see that there are so many people looking for your service, though.
I don’t know anything about Fiverr.
